I found a thread that suggested superbrightled.com #74. I order these but they do not fit and it doesn't look like i can modify them to fit. Can someone help

I went to the dealership with my old bulb assembly and they were able to match it with a cheaper version of the same thing ($0.19 to be exact) only difference is the base for the bulb was green and the bulb had a green cover on it (which I removed to make the climate control light up amber like the oem stuff) no problems so far  I meant to keep the package so I would have the part number but I think I trashed it on accident, I'll see if I can get another bulb.

Have you tried takeing the bulb out of the back.

Remove the a/c panel and on the back you will see the two things on both sides the twist out. Get twisers or fine needle nose and twist them out or the one that is broken. Then take the needle nose and twist the wires till the there straight and pull the burned bulb out then take it too a radio shack and see if there is a match.

I'm gunna do it tomorrow because I'm changing the color to blue and I almost got it.

The ones from Candlepowerinc are direct replacements and are a lot cheaper.

Per unit they are cheaper but if you only need one or two, the upfront cost is greater.

Is this the same bulb that controls the flow of air knob? My light went out on that knob

Middle of the page, search for "79674-S3N-941"

You want the incandescent clear lamp, Type-B
    They're $2 each

The enviro controls are lamps, the rest of the dash is LED.
    Why?
The rest of the dash is on any time the truck is on. The enviro controls (and switches) are only on with the headlights, so they last.

I tried LEDs in my '08, and they were horrible.

The KT928 is a T5.5, the correct bulb for the 2nd Gen HVAC display is a T4.

There are 3 people in this thread who confirm the KT928 is a direct replacement.
Try the KT928 and you will see what original brightness looks like.

I only see one... Docbrown. The other posts were questioning whether or not it is correct.

It might be correct for 1st Gen, but it is absolutely not correct for 2nd Gen.
I am running the clear bulb T4 replacements from Autolumination and they are an exact fit and brightness replacement for the factory bulbs.

I bought all three... the T3, T4, and T5, because nobody on this forum knew which one would fit and could only offer the $15 dealer part number.
Trust me... the T5.5 from Candlepower will NOT fit... it is larger than the T5, which won't fit.
The T4 is the correct lamp.

    Whatever man.

Candlepower is out of stock on them and from what others have been posting, they've been out of stock for most of the year.

You are just dredging up old, dead threads from early 2012 and 2011 spamming your eBay seller ID.

The KT928 is what I used and it is a direct replacement. I have three that I would be willing to give to anyone that needs it if you don't mind snailmail. LMK via PM. My truck is a 2nd gen (2005). I don't think they changed the lights on later models, but I have no way of verifying it.

I tried LEDs first and they sucked.

The AC display has a lot of acrylic surrounding the lights that transmits the light to the dials. The single-chip LED is too directional and only gets picked up by part of the display.

I went with regular white lamps.
