Could this lighting mod be causing double axle trailer brakes to lock?

Many, the list goes on..

I recently borrowed my friends double axle trailer. I bought a brake light adapter and immediately the brakes locked up on the trailer. I plugged and unplugged several times. I then moved the trailer to my friends truck using same exact adapter to rule out the adapter being the problem and it worked fine... Could the below fog light mod cause that?? I'm driving 2011 TRD. Any ideas, anyone experience this?
