These Aurora Lights coming over from china infringe on US patents that Rigid Industries LED Lighting has on there optics. They are illegal to sell and are complete knock offs. There are other options for LED Light bars of cheaper price and cheaper quality out there if you cant afford Rigids. You get what you pay for though. I just suggest you stay away from anything that could relate to legal trouble. Not only are they infringing on US patents but someone could face federal charges from the government, even Rigid doesnt have control over that.

Nah, he's right...I spoke to bajabronco personally and it is an exact knock off...not trying to steal people's hard work in design and get sued for it. After speaking to him , and still waiting for a call back from Rigid VP of sales, I've decided to change the bars a bit. According to the patent rigid holds it is of the refractive lens inside the housing...what can be done is having the lens removed which should decrease the optics approximately 7%(according to manufacturers specs. It is the chineses new year so chinas on lock down for a week or so, but can still order for you guys at those prices. Sorry for the inconvenience guys, just trying to get you guys the best quality at the best price.

Yes Rigid used to make them without the names on the sides. But when the knock offs started to come out and the company got bigger labeling the lights so people didnt get confused was the best option. The old style face plate Lights are same quality you have come to expect from Rigid. They have changed a few things from face plates to optics over time. Made in the USA still, just a changed up design!!!

And correction Aurora is making theirs how Rigid used to!!

Rigid has and always will make there Light bars in the USA. Rigid Industries original bought Holder Lighting 5 years ago which manufactured and built them right here in the USA. They have put in the time and money to patent their products and design and build better and brighter optics.

If you havent realized China makes knock offs of everything even if it was built and manufactured in the USA.

Im not saying theres anything wrong with buying made in China product. You get what you pay for. But wouldnt you rather spend more money to know my hard earned money is going back to the USA economy?

I worked for Weld Racing for many years prior to the American Racing acquisition and we made Forged Aluminum wheels out a virgin aluminum here in the USA. We had just as many problems as the next Chinese wheel company (XD, American Racing, Raceline...) if not more so quality isn't an issue. We patented all designs and still got copied. All I can say is you always need new an improved products to stay ahead of the curve. By the time china has copied you, you need to be releasing the new best thing. Just my .02 but I say Rigid needs to step it up... again. If everything always stayed the same we'd all be driving Model-T's

He does work for rigid, I spoke to him personally, and again...I hear where they are coming from. If you guys remember my original post, I wanted a bar for myself but couldn't justify spending RI prices. That is why I ordered mine from China and thought I could do you guys the favor of getting for you as well. My intentions were not to get rich off of someone else's hard work. Having said that, after talking to bajabronco, I realized that these ARE in fact exact copies. I don't want or need to ruffle feathers and i dont even need RI to prove to me with testing results that they are in fact exact copies, I will take their word for it. He did offer me and anyone interested a discount on RI products but i will let him explain it to you. These bars I got from China can be augmented to not infringe on patents RI holds. If anyone is interested I'd be more than happy to help them out. Or you can discuss discount for RI products with bajabronco.
I don't want to get screwed for trying to do you guys a favor. I appreciate all of the interest and let me know if i can help.
    Thanks guys.

i feel you, RI make awesome products but i also can not justify spending 1k on a 30" led bar. Even with a discount from sponsors or a vendor on here spending over 500 bucks for some lights is insane to me.

you say the bars can be changed up a bit to not infringe on RI patents? would you be changing up the lens? ie; taking out the copied lens from the chinese bar and replacing it with another? just curious what if you did that but included the original knock off lens with the purchase? I mean we all want the most light for our money right? hahah Kudos to you trying to help out us dudes on a budget.

for anyone who is kinda confused about what im talking about, by lens i mean the reflector that projects the light out. Not the polycarbonate lense protecting the leds ahah

From what my contact said it would be the lens that reflects light in the pattern you want ie:flood/spot. my contact said without the lens...there is a 7% decrease in optics which to me doesn't seem like a big difference. As far as getting lenses separately, I thought of that too, but does that infringe on patents? I don't know. Their patent states lens and housing together, so im sure something like that can be done. I just don't know if I'm the one that's going to do it. Besides...I haven't sold any bars to anyone...even with all the interest out there....so investing time and money for this "favor" just isn't worth it for me.
