I spent all day rigging up my Taco the way Toyota should have. Behold! Light!

The glove compartment light is brighter than the picture indicates...

    These look great from above.

All of the lights are tied in with the AirCon controls so they dim with the dash lights. I'll probably change the footwell and rear floor lights eventually since they aren't a match to the factory orange... oh well.

Special thanks to Oznium and Super Bright LEDs for without their products, I would have been in the dark. Thank you to TW for the guidance in disassembling the dash, console, and the correct location to tap into the dash lights. My next lighting project will be entry lights that shine onto the ground below the door when the key fob unlock is pressed.

What lights did you use for the footwell and cupholders? Can you give a few details of how you done this?

When I tap into the dome light for my entry lights, I'm going to mount white LEDs under the dash that will come on when the door is open. I wanted the amber ones for driving.

    Footwell lights in front:

AM-RB-x6: AM series Miniature Rectangle Accent Light - Black from Super Bright LEDs

    Footwell in rear:

ALM-RB-x3: ALM 3 LED Rectangular Accent Light Module from Super Bright LEDs

Cupholder: 2 of these 5mm Orange

For the cupholder lights, I removed the entire center console and disassembled the dash to remove the lower center dash area where the cigarette lighter and auxiliary port reside. I then drilled 2 holes for the LEDs and used LED holders from Radio Shack. The light inside the center console is a flexible self-stick ribbon from Super Bright LEDs... while I had the console out, I drilled a hole for the wires to pass through and stuck it under the lip on the edge. The rear floor lights were mounted to the hump that contains the under-seat storage box. I removed the box so I could run the wiring.

All of the lights are tied into the power and ground coming from the AC selector switches. Green is power, green-white is ground.

I thought of doing this, putting my wide angle leds in the plastic under the door. But I have a full kit under my truck so i skipped it. Would work perfect though. I may do it anyway.
