I'd like to avoid it too. But it's looking like I'm going to have to drill in the rack channel then string the wires underneath the A-pillar plastic. I guess that won't be to hard to do.

If you have a double cab, you can run wires through existing rack bolt hole. If access cab, you gotta drill!

Hey OP, if you haven't already figured out how you want to route the wires, here's how i did it:

underneath the rubber weather strip, drill however man hoes you need in whatever diamiter is apropriate. to run them to power/switches, the roof liner will pop right out of the rubber moulding vvvvvvv
    [IMG]

once you get all of the wires run inside the liner, it will pop right back into place. then remove the two caps on the "oh-shit" handle and remove the bolts under them. after that, i nice pull with remove the entire a-pillar cover. you can run all of your wires right down it and then pop/bolt the cover and handle right back into place vvvvvv
    [IMG]

with the wires run to the bottom of the a-pillar, itis easy to fish them through the dash to wherever they need to go (switch panel, through the fire wall, etc). easiest way to get to them fromt the a-pillar is either all of the way under the dash by going under where the pedals are, or pop out the coin holder that gives you access to the interior fuze panel vvv

when all's said and done, jsut make sure you have nice connections where splices are needed, and keep them well insulated and waterproof. a little silicone should plug up any holes you have to drill in the roof channels.

it's overall a pretty easy wiring job, and before you know it, your truck won't show up in night pictures anymore :p

Thanks Colin! That helps a ton. Glad to see the headliner comes down that easily.

Yesss thank you colin, I'm mounting my yakima basket up on the roof and wanna mount some hella's or KC's up there. Had no idea where to run the wires but that sounds like a solid plan!

Since my rack wasn't mounted t the roof but just suspended over it I was just going to run wires throu the cab out the back of it through the small lower grometted hole already there then just up on the inside of the bars.
