I'm guessing you need new HID bulbs, they tend to turn pink or green on their way out.

It's called color-shift oneshot. Usually the tungsten in the cathode vaporizes and attaches to the inside of the lamp, distorting the color.

5000ºK at 35 watts for white with a hint of blue. Anything higher (Kº) will have LESS light and be blue... ie. for looks only.

    5000k is pure white
6000k is white with a little blue

Anything above 6k is less bright and more blue

It is probably just a slight manufactoring issue that some are 'pure white' and some have a hint of blue at 5000ºK? I mean even the literature on HIDs says that pure white is 4300ºK.

I tried 6000ºK and it is dim and blue compared to the 5000ºK bulbs. LOOK:

I cut some wires here. Added some wires there.
They're all the same Chinese parts packaged in different boxes.

Agreed. There are exceptions, but not really in the sub-$100 neighborhood.

I had a kit in my previous vehicle. Originally had 4300k and that was pure white and brightest as it should be. Switched to 5000k bulbs and there wasnt much of a noticeable difference. Agree that anything higher is dumb. I hate when i see people with 8000k and 10000k kits. Dude on another forum im on had 14000k. Damn things are pink.

I run 8000k at 55w and they are white and not even slightly blue but that is only because the 55w washes out that blue tint you would get if you were running them at 35w. But I would have to agree that anything over 5000k is strictly for show and is in no way beneficial for you.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. And wrong again

I could show you probably 20 different HID kits from china
There are some extremely Lo quality HID kits (such as Xentec) some average quality HID kits (such as DDM) and some pretty hi quality HID kits (such as autovizion) that are all from china

They are certainly not the same parts inside the ballasts. I will back that with proof if anyone wants to argue with it
