Removing headlight glue?

So I separated my headlights today, but I wanna get the old glue out so I can put the new glue in from TRS. Any suggestions?

pre heat the oven to 300...put chrome/gray half in and leave the plastic lens cover out. turn off the oven and let it sit for 10 minutes. pull that half out of the oven and scrape the soft glue out. i dunno if this is gonna work, but it may turn into a complete mess if you are not careful.

i dunno about acetone, but the paint thinner took it off pretty easy. might have to polish or wax em fast kine after because it might get hazy.

I'll try the paint thinner. I'm gonna paint the hole thing black anyway so not worried about the haze
