Want to paint Hella Housings

I am wanting to paint the outer housing on a pair of hella 1000 and a pair of hella 500. Do you recommend Rattle can, Plastic dip or some other paint.

 

I'd recommend high temp paint. If they're anything like my PIAA's, the housings can get pretty toasty. Something like grille paint or engine enamel would do the truck. I would NOT use plastidip and 50/50 as to whether or not regular rattle can would hold up to the heat. My guess is it would because it's widely used with the BHLM.

 

^ Yep, high-temp paint. I'd scuff them up first with steel wool/scotch-brite pad, clean them and then use a high temp primer... then follow with at least three solid coats of your finishing color. VHT is a great brand--available at most auto parts stores--and I have used it repeatedly with success.
