Here's a few pictures of mine. The project is not yet complete, but these photos will describe them better than I can in words.

Note that they appear to illuminate a lot brighter in these photos than in reality. These photos were taken with a 2 second exposure. Take a look at the third and fourth photo and see how bright the factory gauges appear to be glowing, but you know they aren't really that bright...

Heres two with the factory gauges in the photo, I think the color matches almost perfectly:

    Switch in off position:

Switch in on position, indicator bar illuminated in red; makes it very obvious the switch is on:

    Okay...

Very interesting. I think the switch with the square lens uses it as the indicator, where your icons are.

Ya... SPST, terminals 2 and 3 are the actual connections, power to 2 and 3 to the relay.
Pin 7 is always ground... the difference between the two types of switches is whether pin 8 is grounded and pin 6 gets power from the dash lights dimmer, or pin 6 is grounded and pin 8 gets power from the dash lights dimmer.

No big deal... if they are reversed, they simply won't illuminate.

    Those are sweet.

3 looks odd to me, but it doesn't look bad... just not what I'm used to seeing.

Apologies for bumping an old thread here, but there's some absolutely fantastic information in here, for those like me who are electrically challenged. That being said, I still have a few questions...

I'm planning on attempting the same basic setup here, with 3 OTRATTW switches in the top row (fog lights, LED light bar, & bed lights) which will necessitate moving the Cargo Bed Plug switch to the bottom row between my Traction Control switch and the RSCA OFF switch.

First question, any idea if this will be a fairly easy move, or will I have to take apart a larger wiring harness to get the necessary slack?

Second, to get the independent lights (picture/label in these switches) to come on with the rest of the dash lights, and not just on whenever the key is in the ON or ACC position, I'll splice into the OEM Fog Light wire for the dash lights. Can I splice this to BOTH the other 2 switches, or will that cause problems like blown fuses, melted wires, &/or fiery death?

Lastly, each OTRATTW switch has 2 grounds coming off it for a total of SIX ground wires. Can I combine these into one single grounded source, without the blown fuses, melted wires and fiery death part?

Thanks, in advance, for any advice or help you can provide! I consider myself fairly capable mechanically, but electrical has always puzzled and scared me. It might have something to do with an unfortunate Tweezers VS 120v household plug incident, when I was 4, but I just can't be sure...

Sorry, no clue here. Never tried to move that down - worst case you may have to extend the wires for that plug.

When ordering your switches get the independent side (upper or lower) on the side you want "ON" with your dash lights.
This can be spliced into your OEM Fog switch wires for dash lighting.

No fear of fiery death jumping the dash light circuit. Easy to build a jumper string for those.
Make sure you check the OEM dash light dimmer circuit; you may need to tap into it separately for the dash/dimmer circuit ground - not just a chassis ground.
So you would have two 3 jumper ground wires.

EDIT: Depending on what your switches are for (i.e. high amp draw equipment), you should consider running a relay (see page 1) to keep the high amps outside the cab (the fiery death part) and use appropriate wire and fuse sizes.

Thank you!!! I was kind of, almost, sort of sure I knew the answers to these questions, but it's nice getting some reassurances...

I actually stumbled upon the answer to my switch moving question in different thread, and it seems like there's enough slack in the wiring harnesses that you can pretty quickly and easily rearrange those switches however you like.

And yes, I will definitely be using a separate relay for each of these lighting systems as I add them over the next couple months. Thanks again!!!
