Sweet roof rack and bed extender!
I was thinking of adding some of the high output LED strip 5050 SMD strips on my hood facing the engine. I don't know why they don't put these on vehicles any more. Do you guys think I would need 2? Or would 1 be ok? How would you guys wire them? Turn on with toggle or push button? Or use a normally closed pressure switch so when I open the hood it automatically turns on. Downfall of that method is that it would turn on during the day too.

Manual switch with a mercury switch enable so if you leave it on it won't dump your battery.

Do you guys know if this voids warranty? I don't want to do anything that would screw that up...

    Look up Magnusson Moss.

The manufacturer can't void the warranty in general because of aftermarket parts or labor.
If the installation CAUSES a problem (in this case, electrical), they would not be required to replace the fuse box or alternator.
