when you put them back together did you push them together really tight and did you put electrical tape all the way around the light? I put mine in for 5 minutes at 300 and covered the entire headlight in tape and have not seen any fog in the lights yet.

As far as sealant, idk where you would get more.. sorry wish I could give you an answer

Tape doesn't do anything. It's not a sealant. The idea of tape was to cover up the ugly silicone.

Go to your local Nissan dealership and ask for this part, B6553-89915.

If not, order some from here:

Get a box big enough for the headlight. Tape off all of the seams if they aren't already. Leave the top open. Put the headlight in (remove all rubbers and bulbs). Tape off the top except for a hole big enough for a heat gun or hair dryer. Blow hot air in there for about 17-20 mins. Then pry them apart per the instructions.

you know maybe ill give that a shot. i did try using a blow dryer but everytime id get one part of the silicon hot enough to move id move onto another part of the light and the first part would reseal.haha.was a never ending circle. so i put a little bit of silicon back around to seal up any holes. but ill give this a try and see what happens.

just not sure if a box will provide enough insulation

Put a couple of towels or an old blanket around it, that will help to insulate it.

Mine just started to fog up today, I was hoping this would not happen. So does this mean I can wait for the fog to clear up, then pull the head lights out and just reseal them. Or do I need to pull them back apart?

I'd just get some of the sealant recommended in the write up and seal around the headlight. Probably should take them out to get to all sides.

As long as you leave the reflectors and turn indicators functional, you wouldn't get a ticket from me.

And I'm in the progress of doing this mod to a spare set of headlights that I have for my own truck.

Actually, since the ones on the truck are brand spanking new(replaced after originals damaged in a collision) there is zero chance I will get rid of them.

I'm doing the BLHM on a pair of older headlights, one of them has a partially broken tab and some scratches on the surface of the light but nothing that should hinder looks or function.

I'm not even sure if I'm going to like the BLHM until after I get them installed on the truck.

hey guys I'm a new owner of a tacoma, i love this mod but I got a few questions:

#1 So after I preheat to the 200ish degrees, I turn the oven off, then stick the headlight in for the prescribed time right?

then remove and the light should peel apart?

#2 when putting the headlight back together, do I put the clear lens back on and heat the whole thing together in the oven and push it together to seal? OR do I heat both pieces seperately and after the time limit pull them out of the oven and THEN push the pieces together?

thanks for the help, im excited to get my lights looking sick like yalls!

    Congrats on your new tacoma

#1 If it doesn't peel apart the first time, just put it back in for a few more minutes. Even with the sealant warm, it can be tough to get apart.

#2 Assemble the light and put the whole assembly in the oven. You start pushing the pieces together before it goes back in the oven and finish when you take it out.

    Good luck

I just resealed mine at the Sacramento Mod day and so far no more fogging up. Thanks to blackhawk for the sealant!
