I am going to be installing day time running lights on my 2009 Tacoma sr5 by following this thread.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/technical-chat/1475-05-drl-daytime-running-lights-install-oem.html

I want to know if i am able to install a DTRL switch or are the switch mods only for the people whose Tacoma came with DTRL?

If i am able to do the DTRL switch mod how should i do it? I found two threads on how to do the mod i just dont know which to use and if they will work on my setup.

    Here are the links

    Thanks

They both wire up exactly the same.
The first one uses a rocker switch which has spade lugs on the back so the wires can be fed through the opening and connected.
The 2nd link uses a pushbutton and needs the small connector to allow the wires to pass through a drilled hole in the dash or one of the blanks.

As a side note, the wiring job in the first link is more solid.
Solder and shrink-tubing beat the hell out of crimp connectors... especially blue butt splices used where the smaller red ones would be correct for the wire gauge.
