Got pulled over! How to remove rear license plate bulbs?

I was pulling my boat back from Oregon last night and got pulled over because my rear license plate lights on my truck bumper werent on. I can pull the little dome out of the bumper but how to I get the bulbs out?

Ive been stumped all day

 

My 02 the bulbs are the wedge type that you push in or pull out. No turning to remove bulbs.

 

Take the cover off and just pull the bulbs out, I just replaced mine with LEDs the other day.

 

No cover needed to be taken off then harness and housing came out from the underside that twist off from the bumper and the bulb is a wedge type.

 

I dont think the bulbs have ever been changed, the whole half ball light came out but I can't find a way to get to the bulb without breaking anything.
