What wattage are the stock fogs on a 2009 ?

I've searched and looked in my manual , but seem to be coming up with conflicting answers .

 

i beileve the fog bulb is a 9006 style the wattage should be printed on the plastic part of the bulb where the connector would plug into. i'll look it up for you

On my '11 (off a '10) they are 42 watt and I beleave they are 9145s

The reason I was asking was in this thread posters , including myself say that their factory fogs are 35W , 42W and 55W

Typical confusion.

H3 lamps are common for driving lights and fog lights.
They are 55w bought OTC, but motorcycle driving lights are usually 35w H3, and usually need to be special ordered.
KC puts 35w H3 lamps in their offroad lights.

 

Thanks Rich , but it seems you are suggesting the stockers are 55W , am I misunderstanding your post ?

 

No... it appears that the 9145 are indeed in the 40 watt class.

My point was that fog lamps that are commonly available and people might be more familiar with are generally going to be 55w.

Most aftermarket housings (add-on, not the OEM style) use H3 lamps.
