My lights do not come on when I turn the light switch on unless I pull back on the trun signal switch. When I pull on the switch, the brights come on but the dims never come on no matter what. If I hold the swtich back I can drive with my brights on but oncoming traffic doesn't appreciate it.

I have already changed the trun signal swtich and wiring harness. It hasn't helped. Before I take it to a mechanic for 65-85 bucks an hour I would like to see if you guys have any advice.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    Did you change the bulbs?

Check the wiring at the lights also. Could be a bad ground somewhere....

Wife's cousin had this happen to him a while back -- he had a loose wire in the steering column.
