AC Button Light

Trying to change the light on my AC button specifically. Wondering if the puke green is located on the button itself or behind the dash completely.

Notice the green on the side?

Or is it back here. Doesn't look like it as there is no way for light to pass thru.

Also, will these 15 LEDs work? Seems a lil bigger than most others, might have to switch them for 5s.

The 5s are up top and the 15 are the bottom

The green in the AC button is paint and not the bulb. I scraped the paint off and recolored it red. This is not easy to do and can be messed up VERY EASILY. There are two layers of paint (green then white). If you go through the white or any of the surrounding black you will see it on the front of the switch.

Thanks man I had no idea. Appreciate it. What about the clock lighting? Is there a way to change this?

Both the green and amber clocks use the same actual clock part. The part that changes the color is a plastic piece that sits in front. The actual clock display is green. The amber clock uses a red plastic part and the green one uses a green plastic part.

Since I was changing my lights to red, I used an amber clock. I took it apart and colored the actual glass on the clock red, then out it back together. It still appears a little amber but it was the best I could come up with. It is rather difficult to convert green to red light.

hey for your question regarding the A/C button specifically, the green light is INSIDE of that rectangular A/C part, my button broke off from the whole part so I always have to glue it back together, let me know if you want a pic next time it falls out....

FYI That light is soldered onto the board inside the switch. There is another light that is removable once you take the switch apart. It has a twist lock base that is on the side of the inside part of the switch. One light is for the on/off indicator, one light is for the backlight.
