The best Halo light housing to accommodate HID bulbs ( 6000,8000k )

Hey whats up guys !

Got a couple questions about aftermarket light housing units. Is ebay a good spot to pick them up ? Or is it kind of hit or miss for quality, I know I have heard alot of good things AND bad things about HID lights and aftermarket light housing units. So, that being said, if I were to pick up a light housing unit off of ebay, I would be leaning towards something along the lines of this..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/05-11-Toyota...a4a181&vxp=mtr

But.... Im not too sure about the quality and craftsmanship. It would suck to have these crap out or leak water.

Im also looking at a set from Protuning lab, http://www.protuninglab.com/hid-pro-yd-tt05-hl-bk.html

they come with the HID conversion and im thinking of going with 8000k. Nothing to crazy but a nice crisp blue at night I think would look cool, and create a better spectrum of light distribution for me to see better.

All in all I just want something that's going to work, and not blind other drivers, crap out 4 months down the road, or leak water into my light housing.

And as far as I know so far, most HID bulbs are compatible with aftermarket light units ( h7 bulbs, shorter HID bulb ).

So any input would be greatly appreciated, as I want to get this show on the road and Get some wicked looking/bright headlights.

Cheers !

How is 8K going to be crisp and help you see better? It is the color that has the most glare and causes the most night blindness while offering less lumens. Its strickly designed for people who cant afford HID projectors but want to look like they have a colored cutoff line, but instead use cheap salts in a China made, low end HID bulb. Same goes for that light housing. China made, low quality, poor light pattern. Good stuff is seldom cheap and cheap stuff is seldom good. Be honest with yourself... if you are looking at headlights like that you do not really care about performance, you just want em to look cool. They will probably not have issues that cause them to totally not fuction and you lke the way they look for very little money. That is why you should buy them. Just dont try to talk yourself into a line of thnking about quality or performance, becasue its just not going to be for that. They are for looking cool.

4300-5000k are the best color temp to use. Also look into doing a projector retrofit. Much better results and you'll have projectors actually made for HID bulbs. EBay headlights have halogen projectors.

Not to mention their decorative ccfl halos and accent LEDs are bottom of the barrel.

I've had a different pair then what you have posted and they didn't last. I had 8000K HID's in and they were okkay (still bright though). I kept them in my truck for about a year, I had the cheap eBay HIDs as well and they blew out left and right. Then the headlights themselves started leaking and condensed the inside of the lenses.

Now I've upgraded to a pair of retrofitted lights and they are WAY better!

I see a little difference with one with an upper eyebrow and the other not and one set comes with 4300K HID's

I had the pair without the eyebrow except in chrome. So for the difference how did you want your front headlights to look like? lol
