fog light help

bought a 2013 dbl cab tss w/ no fog lights in bumper cover. called the dealer about adding them and was told $514 plus labor, noooo way! found an oem direct replacement package w/ lights, bezels, switch, relay & wiring for $189 w/ free shipping. truck is wired for the lights up front w/ plugs hanging in the fender well. parts guy told me that they would work when lo beams are on but will exit when hi beams are selected. also said that one of the switch blanks in dash is pre wired to accommodate a switch to select whether you want them on or off. anyone know which blank this would be and also if the wires would be slapping me in the face when removed? also am assuming that you remove the blue clips from the backside of the housing in bumper to replace the bezels to mount the lights. many thanks, laura&vic 2012 black tundra crewmax platinum 2013 black tacoma dbl cab tss

Im also looking for help in this area. As my 2013 sr5 is wired as well for fog lights. From what i can tell from reading other threads most deal with installing wiring harnesses as well. In our case i believe it could be as simple as plugging bulbs into the slots. adding a relay to the fuse box and wiring in a switch in the dash board. If it is this simple i can't wait do it.

Thats it!. From what i can tell ill need to order one from Toyota. the bulbs i can purchase on ebay for a more reasonable price. The relay can be bought from napa i believe but after that im a little at a loss. Since the truck is prewired is it as simple as plugging in the relay in the fuse box, attaching the switch in the dash with the wiring behind the blank. and plugging in the bulbs in the bumper. ? id love to do this myself as the dealer wanted 500$+.

picked up my set from ebay. $99
included OEM style switch, bulbs, and wire harness.
I was surprised the lamps were heavy glass and appeared to be excellent quality.

careful, as some have the cheap round switch as opposed to the oem switch.

search tacoma fog lights in ebay

Thats a great deal Coma. Did the switch you purchased require t taping of any wires? or did it just plug right into the pre wiring on the inside of one of the blanks? since my truck is pre wired im hoping not to have to run a new wire harness.

Wiring harness had all the right connectors. Even the switch mated to a connector. Just hookup ground and hot to the battery. Fuse and relay were included. I added a bit of split loom in places, but the harness has a cover for most of the wires.

that's gonna work out great. Called the dealer today and they wanted 250$ a light. ouch. the tech suggested aftermarket light on ebay and to just purchase a relay and interior switch from them. the total came to less than 200$ and im just waiting for delivery. fingers crossed and thanks.

Coma there are many lights listed in ebay. Which ones did you buy?
My tacoma did had the covers but no driving lights. Do I need to purchase any brackets to install the lights?

paid $160 for the kit but wound up using only the lights that could be had 4 around $100. truck was pre-wired and only needed relay & switch that dealer wanted $130 4. install was easy, 2 screws a side and plug 'em up. i work for a wrecker service and found switch & relay in a totaled 2011 and was in business.
