New HID- foggy headlight

I installed my new HIDs today and the driver side headlight fogged up inte rain, I think it's because I cut the dust protector. Anything I can do to fix it without buying a new protector?

Cake some silicone on the protector where you cut it so it seals up is about the only thing I can think of doing.
