Yeah that was my thought, especially knowing some of the steep angles that I've driven that could be steep enough to match the angle of an open hood.

Oh and maybe a go-pro wouldn't piss off the animal rights activists as much as a cat would for testing :p

Really cool idea and great job, though! It's super clean

Interdasting. I like the light array. But why did you find this better than a plunger switch?

But how come you no like standard 12v ring terminal for batt power?

I think a drop of mercury would be the least of my worries after an accident.

IDK, need to go drive over some Prius's and I'll let you know

Dogs and epileptics will be going intro seizures around me or as we call it around our house....Tuesday

With the new Terra Grapplers, i feel like i could drive this straight up a wall. I'm hitting the OR dunes in a couple weeks, I can go up the dunes at night so I'll see :).

Still like the idea of using pets for my evil research :D

impound? Over my gluten bloated, lead infused, mentally incompetent body!

Just for the hell of it really, not that it's 'better' Scott, at least with the tilt switch there's no mechanical parts to wear out. I did it mainly for my amusement and a little challenge. I try to do stuff that no one has done to their trucks, which is a really tall order around TW.

And yes, I should have used a ring terminal, I forgot to buy them yesterday, I'll leave like it is for now, if it breaks I'll put rings in. Though I wrapped the wire around the nut and soldered it, I doubt it's going anywhere.

Definitely creative and I get the fun challenge factor.

But if Tom Cruise opens your hood, he might see that and freak out and cut all the wires. So don't hang out with Tom Cruise.

Cruise is a turd, so is Mel, fucking nuts

    Thanks man!

I am starting to get a little worried about the grill stuff, I am contemplating adding some more blue and I probably shouldn't:eek:

Next up for sure is to mount Blue LED's in the bottoms of the door panels to come on with the dome light, doubt I'll have time before vaca but if not I'll do it at the Mod Day if I'm not too busy helping other folks (which is usually the case :) )

    Well done OP.

I was thinking of using the same mercury switch for some led's in the center console since I can't seem to find a push/pull switch that will easily fit in there.

My question is about the rating of the switch which is 1A 250V AC. I plan on using a LED strip that only pulls 30 mA. Pretty sure this switch handle that without the use of a relay but I am not sure how to, or if you can easily go from AC to DC units. Any idea how many amps you are pulling with your set up? No relay used, correct? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I think mine is rated the same too, but it's a tiny draw with the LED's shouldn't need a relay, anything bigger yeah, my set up is pulling less than a 1/4 amp, no relay but i do have a fuse, always use a fuse.

actually, it's just an extension of the investigation over my home stereo jamming their radars, that and PETA is still pissed over that same stereo killing dogs three blocks away.
