Well right now I used copper wire as a Mach up but I don't think the copper could handle the heat well (waiting to get some .020 steel wire) drilling was a pain for me. Don't have the best drill and the smallest bit I had broke and scratched the shroud but its getting painted so I'm not really worried and that's what I was thinking and having the shroud side with wires down. So it'll be hard to see

Gives you an idea of what I did
I also thought about cutting the wires and drilling just a big enough hole to out the wires thru

Looks like it'll work well, I'm still thinking silicone for mine. ANyone have a reason why i shouldn't do that?

/Where are you getting the really tiny steel wire?

Well I can tell you IMO I don't trust silicone with the heat from the projector. Well I got my cooper from my job (af aircraft mechanic) but I know hobby lobby has hanging wire that thin. Or any hobby store. I plan on using steel wire tho

I used bleach to strip the chrome and it worked 8/10 and hit it with some steel wool.

Good call on the silicone with the heat, I guess I'll look for some thin steel wire at home depot or something. I just don't think the heat would be too bad on the shroud...

Ya I can understand that but I'd be happier knowing its held in there tight with some steel.

I don't think you want to paint the actual shield on the right, I might be wrong though. I think I read it messes up the cutoff. Leave it that color and paint the piece on the bottom left for sure

Yup, then steel wool like a MF

Yeah, I was curious about this. Ant sent me this in a PM that we were talking about demon eyes

The original image was from HIDP and he circled what else to paint for the best demon eye

Honestly I'd just paint the whole shield so you don't have to worry about it. It's what a lot of people do over at hidplanet... I'm painting mine black because it gives off a smoked black look and supposedly improves the cutoff line as well as reduces the rainbow effect.

This is what painting the whole thing red makes it look like

Now that you say that did see a black painted can't decide.lol
For some odd reason one shroud, the chrome won't come off. The other one all de-chromed and just needs washed and dryed

I'm just going to sand it very lightly, throw a coat of self etching primer on it, then spray it with some high temp flat black. Be sure to try and use paint rated for up to 1,000*. Some people used the paint rated for lower and got burn marks in the paint....

This is what black looks like...
