New to forum and recent buyer of a 2009 toyota tacoma double cab, love it. Have a question, I recently put 6000k hids on it and now wanting to go to aftermarket headlight assembly. Wanting to do projector. Please let me know what y'all suggest, and will my hids work in the projector headlights? And what about the head light projector type on eBay. Thanks again

those hids you installed into your stock housings wont work on the any headlights with projectors...
if your stock housings look good, id suggest retrofitting them with some aftermarket projectors from TRS (there are multiple threads with alot of useful information)
if you do that, you buy the kit and order the new hids with ballasts from them to fit the projectors perfectly.

    also, welcome to TW

Look into a retrofit from theretrofitsource.com

The eBay /spyder projectors have terrible optics and leak often.

Also, anything above 4300k or 5000k is going to give you less light.

Blue is very irritating to the human eye, does terrible in rain, dust, and fog.

OEM hids are never blue..... They are 4300K philips bulbs.

I have spyder headlights and don't have any problems with them. They put the light out better than the stock and I like them. No leaking

My OEM lights were actually very good. Only reason I "needed" a retrofit was I wanted the more updated look compared to yellow headlights

My stocks were the best headlights I had used other than my dads mini cooper. My old subaru head lights were bad and my moms ford expedition's lights sometimes seem like they aren't on. The spyder ones just, in my opinion, spread the light better than the stock ones. I guess it also helps that I did the Low beam on with high beam mod.

how much wet weather do you encounter? sometimes it rains pretty hard here and i have to drive through puddles that are about as high as the bottom of my bumper...

so just to make sure i understand - the bumper led's replace the yellow drt's that are stock?

Quite a bit down here in FL. A couple of times over the summer I had to drive through puddles that were about to the bottom of the bumper and when I hit them the water same over the lights. So far they have handled both extremes of heat and cold. Maxed out at about 105 in fl and -20 isn in wyoming.

The bumper lights were for looks and didn't really do anything. They just came with my headlights so I put them on.

I didn't have stock running lights so I hooked the leds and halos to my parking light. The turn signal and parking light bulbs get removed from the stock housing and get placed into the aftermarket ones.

I hope that wasn't too confusing if it was shoot me a pm and I could go into more detail.

EDIT: Those blueish led lights under my bumper were just led lights that came with the headlights. They were mainly for looks and had nothing to do with the headlights.
