I just purchased a 2011 Tacoma and noticed that the yellow lights in between the headlights do not come on unless the flashers are on. Is that really how it is supposed to work? It seems to me that those lights should come on when driving.

Depends on it ur truck came with daytime running lights... If not, then these function only as blinkers and hazards.

With all the complaints of these lenses melting on dtrl equipped trucks, Im happy mine only function as blinkers

When I bought mine, DTRL were "required" by law, as in most current vehicles. But I live in Texas, so mehhh. Honestly though, I think that they are supposed to be on until the headlights are turned on.

Lucky YOU! Mine function as running lights and they melted like candles. I just replaced the fixtures with Halo/LED lights and I'm NOT wiring in running lights....
