I just accidentally bought a new pair of KC HID daylighters 35 watt 24 volt lights off ebay. It was a buy it now for $115 and I just jumped the gun without reading enough. These are external ballast. Is there anything that I can do to convert these to 12 volt? Ballast, relays, bulbs, or all of the above? I have no experience with HID. And if there is a way to do it can I also switch them to 55 watt?

I called KC lights today and the guy is checking on my ballasts to see if they'll run 12 volt( I guess some do and some don't). If they will all I have to replace is the two relays at $8 a piece. If I have to get new 12 volt ballasts could someone give me a link to what I should get, I might as well go 50 watt as long as I'm doing it. I would really appreciate it.

Along with these 2 HID's I'll be running 2 halogens. Do you think I should go with 100 watts or the 130's ? (2 spotties and 2 drivers) Eventually I might add 2 rectangle fogs on the stubs on the sides of each front frame horns.

35 watt HIDs are very bright, as long as the color isn't blue or yellow... ie. you want 4300 to 5000ºK in color temperature.

Halogens just use a lot more power and aren't as white... the only plus is that halogen turn on instantly... and HIDs take a few seconds to reach the brightest light. 130 over 100 if you have the capacity. Of course, I would say HID over halogen.
