    Hey TW,
I had an idea pop into my head and I started thinking about what I could do to cover up my light bars while not in use. I would hate to have a sand blasted lens from a sand storm in the desert if I wasn't using them, not that I have that worry anymore. Some states don't allow off highway use lights to be mounted on a vehicle while operating on the road. The thought of making a soft cover of some sort custom fit for each size light bar or pod would be great.
I talked to a lady that does most of the boat canvas around our area to come up with some ideas. First it was a neoprene cover designed like a Scope Coat that would slip over each end to secure itself. Then the wiring could get in the way. She had the idea of making a custom fit sack with an elastic draw string to cinch it up after putting it over the light bar. I told her that it would have to be tight so the fabric does not whip against the lens and scuff it. Then the idea of putting foam stitched in that section of the cover came about.
Long story short we are making a couple of prototypes for a 20", 4", and 9" light bar I have from Quantum(KMD Garage). I wanted to put this feeler out there to see what everyone may want in a product like this. As far as colors I was thinking black to keep it basic.
I am curious to see what people would expect to pay for something like this. Remember it is going to be protecting your expensive light bar that you do not want damaged. Of course they will be as reasonable as possible just to get the lights under cover.

    More to come...

I've used clearbra to help a lot of the 4wd guys around keep theirs from getting damaged. Works great! It's replaceable if it does get too F'd up.

If you get it figured out let me know. I'd be interested in using it for a business perspective.

I will. The fabric chick should be contacting me today or tomorrow. I know you can put clear vinyl over them but that does not change anything for the states that do not allow off road use only lights to be permanently mounted on a highway use vehicle. This cover will eliminate all issues while keeping dirt and dust off the entire housing.

OK. So I have an update. I got a prototype back from the upholstery shop. I think it is a great start.

This is a 9" light bar from KMD Garage, Quantum LED's. This was extra fabric from a different project she had going on. It is a high UV protectant and water resistant fabric, Sunbrella. It is used for marine boat covers mainly. Obviously the color will not be blue as that look silly. I would have them made in black. The rope will be changed to a smaller diameter and the snap will also be black. There will also be a quick zip on the rope to tighten it up and cinch the end of the cover.

Any other ideas or feedback would be great. I would like opinions on what something like this is worth to protect your expensive light bar while not in use.
