NO DTRL, Hazards or Turn Signals

I'm a new member here, although I have been searching TW for many years and it has been very helpful. Thanks TW!!!!

I was changing my 3157 bulbs on my 07 Taco for LEDS and everything stopped working. No DTRL, no hazards, no turn signals. I checked all the fuses and none are blown. My connectors are burnt, but they have been like that for years.

Only other option I may have is to buy new connectors, Any suggestion or technical assistance is greatly appreciated

Change the fuse anyway. I had the same problem that you have , fuse didn't look blown, but it started working after I change it. Also, l.e.d.s like a certain polarity, pull it out, rotate it 180 degrees and put them back in. See if that will help.

 

I changed the 15 amp fuse under the hood and even put the old bulbs back in, even turned them 180 like you said. I even had the bulbs checked out and they are fine. Still doesn't work. Honestly I'm baffled on this one. Normally I can fix about anything on my Taco, but this one is definitely challenging.

I looked at the label for the fuses, Don't know which one is for the DTRL. Will have to do some research.

 

Which one is it? I'm researching now. I don't want to pull every fuse out and check it. Just asking for more problems if I do that....lol

I had a problem like that before, everything went out, and it turned out it was the tail fuse. Kinda odd. Can't remember why now but yeah maybe check that one.

 

Don't pull the fuses. Use a test light. Or even better a power probe.

 

This is what I did so far but the problem still exist. I changed the acc fuse 7.5 amp, I noticed my power outlet fuse 15 amp was burnt out, I changed that one even though I don't use my power outlets. I changed the 15 amp fuse in the engine compartment fuse box the one that's labeled DTRL/TRN. I put my original bulbs that were tested and are working back into the DTRL connectors.

All my headlights, fog lights, tail lights, brake lights, and reverse lights are functioning properly. Just my DTRL and turn signal lights don't work..... very odd.

I took my multimeter to the DTRL lights with the engine running and no headlights on there is only .38 to .40 volts to the connectors. So there has to be a fuse that I'm stupidly over looking or its something else.

Harlan mentioned the tail light fuse. I will try that. Seems to be my only option left before I buy new DTRL connectors.

I have been trouble shooting my problem all morning and just ran out of options. I checked everything, my grounds, even replaced the DTRL/TRN 15 amp fuse not just 1 time but 2 times and nothing. I was about to take it to Toyota tomorrow. So I said WTF, I'll changed the DTRL/TRN 15 amp fuse again, didn't have nothing to lose. My DTRL and turn signals came on. I guess 3rd time is a charm....... I checked the other 15 amp fuses and they were still good........ So...... all is well!!!!

I'm going to open an ice cold beer and watch some football!!!!!!!!!!

I blew my turn signal fuse that is under the hood have you checked that one? I believe its labeled TRN/HZD

 

Oddball question. When you pulled the fuse, did you look at the terminals? Possible they are spread a little too far apart.

 

I did notice a little bit of corrosion on the first fuse, it was tight trying to get it out. Maybe removing and installing the fuse in the terminal several times removed whatever it was from making contact. That is the only solution I can come up with.... I'm just glad they work now.
