Hey guys I just got a 40" visionx lightbar and mounts from Taco Man in HD. I want to know how you run the wires from the roof discretely to hide them. A buddy sent a picture to me of his that I'll post. Also how did you keep it from leaking water in ? I was thinking of a rubber plug like the firewall but not sure the exact name to find them.

    Thanks

    You're thinking of a grommet.

Can't help with the rest of the query though.

Mine was wired in at the light bar mount on the drivers side. I drilled a small hole through the body below the rain weatherstrip, then sealed it with silicone. Hasn't had a single leak and I have gone through a LOT of rain!

Drilled a hole in the rain gutter itself. Had to cut off the connector and use butt connectors but works great and no drilling through the cab. Run the wires down between the weather stripping.

Fed it through between the fender where the hood hinge is, into the engine bay. Mine was wired into my high beams. But you could just feed the wire through the firewall if going into cab.

Yup. Just make sure you drill it as close to the cab as you can on the gutter. So the door doesn't put pressure on the wire as much. I went to drill and it spun off center a bit:/

Also, what vision x bar did you get!?!? I bet that thing was crazy expensive! I think you're the first one I've heard of that has purchased one here. Be sure to share some pics as well as some output shots. Very curious to see their output. I was wanting to get a xmitter prime extreme but that thing is like $2k!! Now that the osram 4d bars have come out, I will probly get one of those for under $300:D

I believe it's the extreme not the prime. I will post pics once it's all wired up. I actually lucked up on this find.

Here's what they had to say

Hi Joe here with Vision X, you must have a Prime Extreme 40" bar, the bar has two power sources due to the amp draw the standard connector we used wouldn't carry what was needed and get really hot and melt. So we went and made the bar with two, one on each end.

Red is power, black is ground and the yellow is the dimming wire (most people don't dim the light so just don't use it at all)
