3rd Brake Light LED

Where can i find an LED 3rd brake light for my 2015 Tacoma TX Edition?? PM me if you know...Thanks everybody

 

Got mine from ipcw through a local auto shop. I have a 2010 sport.

 

i got mine through VLED, they are noticeably brighter than the ones i got from csjumper.

Did you buy VLED 921 LEDs or 194 for the third brake light?

 

i got the 194 Red, they are sold in pairs. not cheap but they work well.

Not sure but I know 921 is the bulb size for brake lamp which is the same base as 168 194 bulbs

 

if you get the 921, please post back, i would try them if it works on your truck.

it says not for continuous use, like a dome light, my only other thought was sitting in traffic but i cant imagine them getting that warm...

you roughly need aleast 1.3 inches bewteen the lens and where the bulb seats into the terminals for this to mount properly.

Thank you for the comments. Looks like it won't work.

 

I used 3 LED bulbs made by Jam Strait. Autozone had them cheap. Very bright and will throw a spot on a wall (without the tail light lens on)

They have four 5mm LEDs facing forward which concentrates all the light in one direction. The LED bulbs you see with chips all over the bulb are great if you want a more diffused light pattern like the original bulbs.

I would guess that the single led wouldn't be that bright in the housing. Get one that has side leds to fill the reflector. The second with the radial leds would probably work better, but for $25 for the pair and $50 for 4 leds, damn.

Red led version

They are brighter than stock. This picture has the leds installed in the outer two spots with the inner being the stock filament bulb. Can easily see the difference between them.

Here are a few shots of mine. I used a flash to balance the light in all three shots and took these with the camera sitting on the tailgate.​

I like the "spot" pattern that these give instead of the "flood" pattern most bulbs have. ​

I could conceivably paint the inside of the brake light and reflectors black and install a clear lens but I think I like the red lens better on a blue truck.​

On the other hand, a smoked lens might look totally badass. Hmmm. ​

I have the first ones you linked to in my map lights now. (VLEDS) I'll try tomorrow to get some comparison shots, I also currently run the ones Shadow has.

 

Comparison shots? Looking to do mine but ran across some dim red led 168s that didn't work as bright as stock.

I got mine at AutoZone this past winter. They are relatively inexpensive and super bright.

 

Bummer no AutoZones in Hawaii. Good thing I'm headed to Vegas and there's about 10 stores within a few miles of the city.
