Morimoto D2S Mini 3.0 help

Hey all, I'm about to install my first retrofit kit and want some opinion.

*Should I paint the housings and the shrouds black? Anyone have pics of this?

*What temperature and how long to bake the headlights in order to remove the lens? Also how do I remove the reflectors?

265 for 8 mins.

Paint anything you want, you don't need the chrome anymore.

You will have to modify the 9003 bulb alignment ring to work on the 2012-2015s

Thanks for the input. Any idea how to remove the chrome lining? I think I'm definitely going to paint everything black after i hit it with the primer.

Go to the grocery store and buy this

Spray it on outside or in a well ventilated area and don't breathe it. It will strip the chrome off rather quickly

You don't need to remove the chrome just use Krylon Fusion spray paint, it's made for painting plastic and comes in flat, satin and gloss black you can pick your poison.

Also be careful to line up the projectors light output. +1 on the krylon fusion no need to remove the chrome.

Got pretty busy this week, but I think I'll have some free time on Friday to get it goin. I will update my progress as I go on, maybe even take some snapshots. I'm contemplating purchasing some headlights so that I can work on them and still drive my truck, but they are about $100 a piece .

I'm currently running a spare set of headlight so that I can take my time on my retrofit.
I think its worth the investment
