Is it worth changing out the white fog light bulbs to yellow ones? I have found several on Ebay for around $10 a pair. 9145 super yellow 3000K bulbs. I don't really want to replace the entire fog light, just the bulb.

It really depends on how much you want yellow fogs.

Those bulbs seem reasonably priced. That's even cheaper than Lamin-X film too.

I guess the question I was really asking was does anybody who switched from white to yellow notice a difference in visibility?

Well then, I guess the answer you would have been really getting would be you will definitely notice a difference in visibility when using the yellow bulbs in fog/rain/snow because the longer wavelength of the yellow light penetrates better with less glare.

I run yellow head lights and find that they are better in bad weather and cause less eye strain. I also have a set of those night driving glasses ( the yellow lens ones) for some nights that I have to drive all night with lots of glare.

You could also look into a vinyl lens cover for the housings.

I can personally vouch for Optilux yellow bulbs. They are a nice dark yellow color. Just be sure you get the ones that are 42 watts. Mine have been going strong for a year and half now.

    Why 42W and not 100W?

The extra heat could damage the fog light housing or the wiring. I've seen a fog light enclosure start to melt myself. All the reflective coating blistered.

Also with a true fog light you don't want a super hot spot right in front of the truck. It will simply increase glare and make your eyes focus at the bright spot in front of you instead of further down the road.

The uber high wattage stuff is best served for driving lights so they can really reach far out there, but only in the proper housing of course.

Not sure if you can get em anymore but Nokya hyper yellows are awesome. I've been rocking them in my IPFs for almost two years. Only turn them on during fog/rain.

Yellow and amber work great on log visibility, foggy situations. Try some yellow led fogs

Got the yellow 42W bulbs. Easily installed and they work great in the fog. Thanks for the suggestions......
