Headlights: FXR Retrofits, bought them used and have had them about a year, year and a half.

Okay so I noticed one of my headlights weren't working the other day, so i ordered new bulbs figuring it was that.

Got the new bulbs in today and go put them in.. drivers side still not working. Passenger side working fine.

Figured it was the ballast, so I used the HID ballast from my fog lights & the working passenger side headlight.. nothing.
    So it's not the ballast.

Thought maybe it was the D2S adapter stopped working - swapped working passenger side onto drivers, not working.
Put drivers side adapter on passenger light, works fine.
    So it's not the adapter.

I checked the fuses under the hood. (4) 10A fuses labeled "head hi" and "head lo", replaced all 4 with brand new 10A fuses..
    Still nothing.

I have no clue what it could be, anyone have something similar happen or know what it could be??

    any input is appreciated!

    Thanks!

Measure the power at the plug. Probably the harness

The harness would cause the whole drivers side (no low beams, no high beams) to stop working and still let the passenger side?

That's odd that it's the driver side since the harness gets power from that side of the vehicle.

hid head lights, hid fog lights, always on fog lights, bed lights
Most likely a loose connection. Check the ground connection.

There should be 2 grounds (one behind each headlight) with that harness. I remember that was a difference between that one and my old one

I'll double check that tomorrow when it's light out. My ballasts have never been ground, just hooked then up and laid them in there.
The only thing grounded is the harness that I can remember off the top of my head

    Please elaborate...

There's 2 plugs for the ballast, 1 goes to the HID bulb and the other connects to the harness. If you're stating in general these lights need ground to work, then yes I agree. But reading your reply at 1st glance it seems like you're saying a ground wire needs to run straight to the ballast.

I don't have that ballast, mine have a ground wire coming out of it, my ground poped loose on the right side and that light went out, when its loose I get blinking lights

You're running HIDs with no ballast? You have a pic of your kit?

I'll look into that, i'll make sure mine are grounded good.

I think he's saying he DOES have a ballast; just not the one you posted and that his has a ground wire coming out of it in order to supply power to it.
I've never had one of those before

I've been running Xentec ballasts that were used in my old ebay kit.

Steve I just reread your original post again, damn I wish I was closer to you so we could meet and check this out. Since you swapped the following:

    1. Bulbs
    2. Adapter
    3. Ballast

And it's still not working, what else do you need to make an HID retro turn on?
    Wiring Harness

I know you said in this thread that you have the same harness that I do, but it's the only thing left I can think of that you need to make an HID retro fire up. Try ordering another harness and when it comes in, just take it out of the package and plug everything in to see if your light works.
