light in switch not working...

I realize this is an old thread...I wired my light to the Toyota switch and the light doesn't come on when the switch is turned on. I have power to the switch, power to the light and a ground, when I disconect the ground...the lights still work, just the light(on the switch) doesn't come on. I know it's petty since the lights i'm running are working, I'd just like the litch to come on too. Any input???

See post from Plain Jane Taco regarding wiring at the above link.

I cannot recall exactly how I did mine but I likely followed what was posted here. Mine do not illuminate the little headlight icon at all, but the orange indicator light is illuminated ONLY when the aux lights are switched to the "on" position.

Hope this helps.

Looks like the bulb in the switch is bad, I wired a second set the same way and the light on the switch works...

I'm wanting to move (re locate) the factory alarm light/sensor from the lower middle slot to the upper middle slot, leaving the lower 3 for the new auxillary lighting switches.
Any way to do this simply without yarding half the dash out ?? I've looked around a bit for links but haven't hit on the right one yet.
Some one else asked you if you'd received anything about this and you said "you've got mail" can you send that my way too? My foglights work but when I let out the button they turn off. as long as i hold the button in they work. i assume the button is failing and i need to take it out and mess with it. thx

So Since my fogs work when i hold in the switch but stop when I let it out, i reckon the issue must be with the switch. i've removed it. anyone know anything about taking these switches apart or how they work?
