I have browsed the majority of forums regarding the HID lights for my 07 Tacoma but cannot locate a solution to my problem. I recently purchased a set HID lights from Retro Solutions and tried to install it with no luck. I had everything installed as shown in the instructions but the lights would not fire up. The FAQ on the instructions says to reverse the polarity to the ballast, tried that and it did not work. Some websites say I need to disable my daytime running lights because they take away from the power needed to fire up the lights. Has anyone done this with success? Could anyone give me some advice on options that I could try to get these to work. Anything would be helpful.

I am not sure. I just got the HID kit today. It came with a harness if that is what you are referring to. I did not do anything to the daytime running light wiring. I'm sorry, I am new to the electrical side of trucks. Thanks for you help.

Anyone else have any ideas, what I could try to get this kit working. Is there a relay harness that is required in additional to the one provided with the kit to get it to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks guys for your help. It does look very similar to that wiring harness. There are a couple more plugs that I have on my kit. Additional grounds for each bulb, as well as 2 other connectors at each bulb. It seems light i should not need additional equipment, maybe I have defective equipment. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here is a picture. The open connections are at the bottom. One positive side of the battery. 2 Grounds (one for each lamp) and the mating connector which goes to the with the stock plug for the truck. Everything else has a match.

It should work. I dont see why it shouldnt. As long as everything is hooked up correctly and connections are tight aka snapped in. If you were close by, i'd come hook it up and help a fellow yota person out. On the ballasts (shiny box things) Check the polarity on them and make sure if you did switch them around that they are snapped in place.

Thank you for all your help. I found out that I had faulty ground locations. It would spark so I though it was ok but I guess it wasn't. I relocated and it looks great. Thanks again guys. I appreciate it.
