Pic of 4300K HID fogs from Slimcubby's GB
I installed the 4300K HID fogs this week from Slimcubby's GB last month and took a pic tonight while testing them out in the rain for the first time. They make a difference and go along nicely with my 6000K hi/low projector retrofit.
I may try some 3000K bulbs in the fogs from a future GB. I'll have to see how the 4300K bulbs are in the heavy fog/snow/rain in the coming months. |

I got the fog light HID conversion through Slimcubby's Group Buy. There is one going on right now and ends the evening of the 15th. Prices are on the first page of his GB thread. They very depending on the options you choose. Shipping is flat rate - $15.95 I think to anywhere with any kit you purchase. Shipping to Canada is more if I remember correctly.

Thanks! I would like to get the digital slim 6000k for the fogs and head lights, but it's a little pricey from what I read. I think I might go with just the headlights, but then it would look tacky with the fogs.

If that is what your budget allows, it doesn't look all that tacky with the fogs still being stock/halogen and the headlights being HIDs. I ran my fogs stock for almost a year after doing my retrofit.

Thanks, it seems that there is a group buy for these alot so I could hold out for a while. Is there a big difference since you've changed to hid?

The HIDs are brighter, that is for sure. I have researched how much brighter they are and the HID 4300K color temp according to most sources is 2 to 3 times brighter than comparable halogen lights. It is also one of the brightest color temps because as you go up or down from 4300K you lose intensity. The color you choose should depend on what you will use the lights for. Will they be for looks/show or for performance in inclement weather conditions. Being from the inland Pacific Northwest we get some intense fog, snow, and rain conditions during the winter.
