its pretty sticky so i bet dust and stuff will collect and make it not adhere as well.. i used all the oem sealant on mine (did everything all at once, didnt let it set for an extended period of time) then sealed all the edges with clear silicone after the oem stuff cooled down a few hours. washed it twice and still no fog ;)

Yes, just heat them up and they'll go abck together fine. Try to keep crap out of the sealant while they're apart. If I were you and planning on taking that much time, I'd try to get the OEM sealant out when you take them apart (as much as you can, it's tough and time consuming) and replace it with a strip of the 3M Window Weld when you reassemble.

Thanks for the reply...this is the way I will do it...Luckily I have a 2nd. set of stock headlights, so I can take my time. I will pull my original lights off the truck when the weather warms up.
I have a funny feeling I will be painting my chrome grill surround when I see the new bhlm lights on my baby.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to post pics and instructions on how to do this mod, (esp. Viet). I will try to post pics when I'm done.

^^^ Just got done with mine and so far so good! Decided to black out my chrome grill then realized the lights needed to be darker. I didn't want it all black so I taped off all the reflectors to keep it bright and it turned out very nice!

I think I may give it a go this weekend, supposed to be nice weather "finally" I did it once to a acura 6-7 years ago and all I remember was it was a PIA to get the headlight apart after we baked it. I actually think we ended up using a hair dryer to keep the black sealant hot as we were pulling them apart. But man it looked so much better once we were done.

Added these tubes in the holes i drilled to exhaust the condensation. Got the idea from Range Rover ( factory idea ). Only because my work wasnt good enough. But hey it works without taking the lights apart and starting over.

Looking at your pic it looks like your DTRLs have a yellow lense over them and/or a yellow bulb. Did you Krylon those with the Yellow Krylon Stained Glass rattle can? Just curious. Mine are clear and would like to add some color in addition to the amber bulb.

None yet, starting over!! OME lift w/ Dakars & 885's Remote Start w/ window control
I've got a RRed, and I thought about this as well.... In the end, I am gonna take the headlight bezels, the chrome grill, and the bumper all painted black at a shop close by (just the center part below the lower grill... I thought that might look pretty sweet

    STOP!!!!!
Before you go and open up your headlights, i have already removed my turn signal lenses by taking the headlight bulbs out and sliding the turn lenses over to where the headlight bulb hole is, then using tin snips start cutting up the lense and toss the scraps. I never opened my assemblies and got the out without a problem.

I can post some pics if you need me to.

I had the headlights out, i pushed the lenses from the back after i removed the turn signal bulbs, the took out the headlight bulbs and shook the assemblies till the lenses were where the headlight bulbs would normally be. Then using tin snips i started cutting them up and pulling out the pieces. It was really easy.
