I noticed last night that when I turn on the high beams in my wife's Lexus RX330 the low beams stay on. The fogs go out (as they do in all 'non-modded' cars), but her highs and lows are on together.

    That is all.

When we had our 2004 Accord the lows would stay on with the highs and I hated it. When on back roads or the highway I want to see way out in front, not just in front of the bumper. I found having the lows on with the highs put too much emphasis on the ground right in front of you instead of further down the road. The same amount of light is being produced for the high beams but it gave the perception that the low beams overpowered the highs.

I didn't like it at all - but that is just me.
