Hella 500 HID Conversion & Mount Behind Satoshi *How To* w/ pics

I'm planning on using this setup after I do a satoshi setup, but would I need a thin lip satoshi in order to mount everything behind the grill?

 

I've seen plenty of people run hella 500's behind a deep satoshi

 

Whew thanks, I want to do a thin lip but I'm doing it myself and I think it's weird for the top grill to be thin and for the lower bumper grill to be deep

 

Looking for a little help. I am about to buy 2 hid kits. It's a h3 bulb right? Do I need the dual in/out harness?

 

H3 is the correct bulb for the Hella 500's. Get the 55w it's way brighter. no harnesses needed from DDM. if you buy the Hella 500 from Amazon that is sold as a pair, it comes with a relay, wiring kit and switch you can use for the HIDs. just follow this how-to exactly and you'll be ok. I have no idea what I'm doing and I was able to do it

 

OP, thanks again for this write up, i just added 2 more Hellas behind my grille! Just adjusted the mountting holes in the bar and done! Still need to convert, but that will come with time.

zip strip them to the core support on either side of radiator just inside the eng compartment is where mine are going.

haven't heard of h3c before. I'd get the h3's and avoid the possibility of them not fitting

What kind of hella 500 housings do most people go with for this for beam pattern?

The first coupla weeks after Thanksgiving we had bad fog just about every morning. It was like zero visibility driving thru clouds but could still see the road very good for 60-75 yards in front of the truck with the 3000k HIDs. Work great, lovin them.
