2010 Clock is LCD with LED Backlight!!!!

I have a Radio mod on my bench from a customer with a 2010. It also had the clock panel attached. I noticed that there was no orange on the lens over the clock. So I opened it up and Voila! You can use PLCC2 LEDs but the original LEDs are a little different. I will post more information as I have it. I wonder what else they changed. I will have to go to the dealer today and inspect a 2010.

No crappy VFD here! 2010 clock backlight color can be easily changed!!!

i thought those clocks in the '10 looked a little different...now i KNOW they are different!!

 

Do you think it's possible to install the new clock in the older models?

 

if the connections were all correct.. sure. even if not, its a clock. its self contained. all you need is power and a ground. im sure the mounting bracket is identical

man, the gage clusters,radio, and clock stuff looks great! I wish I can have this done to my truck.

 

It would be awesome if someone started modding these and made a package deal.. gauges and clock

What about the overhead console temp gauge/compass? Do you think it's the same change?

 

I wont be able to tell unless i get my hands on one or we have a volunteer who is willing to take theirs apart.
