Are the Sylvania Silverstars brighter than stock, or just different light color?

Also, which color HID would match the Silverstars? I might go HID with my Offroad lights, and silverstars with my others.

no way your going to match halogen bulbs w/ HIDs.

silverstars are slightly (but not much) bluer and brighter than stock. i would recommend the phillips x-treme vision over those tough. thats what i ran before i did the retros.

phillips 85122+ bulbs (4300K) is about the closest color output to halogen bulbs. FYI, the non + phillips bulbs will colorshift to about 5000K after about 100 hours, even though they start at 4300K

Did you notice a difference in light output with the phillips bulbs as compared to stock?

yes, slightly...about as much as you can expect from halogens...the silverstars say they put out 15% more light and i believe the phillips are about the same.

the silverstars have a blue coating that gives them their bluish output. the phillips dont have a coating in what i recall...therefore you will get more output from the phillips as the coating will ever so slightly reduce the output.

Is the 85122+ bulb plug and play? I can't seem to find any info and it doesn't look to be.
