I used smoked laminix a while back and it turned hazy from the heat of always running the fog lights. Digging the yellow fogs now. Not to mention the better light output for adverse weather. I'm def doing this mod when I get home...from Afghanistan

    Click my build thread!
I installed the lamin-x a few weeks ago and it's a pain in the ass for sure, if you want the yellow look just go with the paint alot easier and will not drive you crazy trying to put it on.

bump for an awesome mod. just finished tackling it today.

First step was I washed all the bugs and grime off the lens.

Our local Michael's didn't have a newer can in stock, this can was similar to a small one of WD40, so it wouldn't really come out in light coats. I used it pretty thick until I got the color I wanted. Then let it air dry for about 30-40 minutes. I took a wet paper towel and wiped the lights down before install just to make sure i got any excess off (very small amount). I must say you can really tell the difference.

before (ignore the haze, it was the pic+fog lights in fair condition)

i did this to mine today, but they never lost the haze. it was like little bumps/ specs on most of the lens, but some areas were smooth. it looks like ill be sanding these down and trying again... would the rainy weather have an adverse effect?

Did you clear coat them? The clear coat helps to get rid of the haze. My experience with rainy weather is that the paint contracts leaving huge gaping cracks in the paint but that was with a solid color. If you look at the back of the can there are the optimum temperature and humidity levels. I highly suggest following it especially the humidity. Once you get the clear coat on, WET sand the clear coat with 1000+ grit wet-sandpaper and then use a polishing compound. Should help a lot.

Very cool and cheap mod idea! Does anyone have pics of it done on a Indigo Ink?

    Here's a pic on a Nautical Blue...

Mine look hazy too for some reason. I did them a few months ago and they are starting to chip. Love the yellow fogs on the Nautical Blue so now it's time to start saving some $$$$ for real yellow fog lights.

Wouldn't it just be easier to swap out the bulbs? I did and then you can change them out as needed? I got NOKYA H-10 #NOK7626 hyper yellow. Very bright and deep yellow color.

Putco makes a decent yellow bulb also. I could find Nokya bulbs when my last set blew so I went with Putco.

    One day. Haha.

You could just use yellow bulbs but the paint or laminx also gets rid of the chrome look.

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
Does anyone have a place they buy the Yellow Bulbs from online? I think I may go that route, I would probably screw up the spray on.
