I got another 3 in suspension lift added to my body lift a while back and put 35's on my truck. I noticed that my head lights on dim, barely shine on the road. Is there a way to redirect them a little lower, or should I get new HID's or something. Just a question?

    thanks, tyler

He's got a 1st gen and I believe that diagram shows it for the 2nd gen., but the process is the same, only instead of a screwdriver you use a socket, but I can't recall the size of the socket though.

socalman22 edited his post after I replied. It was a diagram showing how to adjust headlights for a 2005+ Taco.

Not familiar with 1st gens specifically but headlight assemblies have an adjustment screw/bolt that will change the pitch. Should be able to locate it on the backside of the assembly, probably towards the top and easily acessible.

shouldn't need a diagram, just pop the hood, and look behind the headlight for either a Torx head screw or hex-head, (dunno what it is on older 1st gens )Park your truck in front of a garage door or wall or something, about ten feet back and turn the adjuster on each light until they both move down to about where you think they should be

    K&N Air filter
    Then test drive..
    See what it looks like.

Than ask a friend to drive 3 seconds in front of you on the freeway.

If he is blinded by your light adjust it. If he is not then you are good to go.

Also look at these web site
    http://www.automedia.com/Aiming_Headlights/ccr20010801ha/1
    This is a PDF http://www.coolbulbs.com/HID-VISUAL-HEADLIGHT-AIMING-PROCEDURE.pdf
    http://www.procarcare.com/icarumba/.../icar_resourcecenter_encyclopedia_lights1.asp

I think this should clear thing sup on how to adjust your lights to be safe and usefull

My uncle has a 1st generation Tacoma and his headlights is very dim. I did a search on slimcubby hid's and it will not fit first generation. Correct?

If that's the case then my only other option is to buy a replacement bulb. Anybody recommend a good bright bulb for the 1st gen headlights ?

    Thanks.

1st gens are separated into 2 categories: 95.5-97 and 98-04. PnP HIDs will not fit 95.5-97 but will fit 98-04. 95.5-97 have the sealed halogen lamps while the 98-04 uses halogen bulbs. What year does your uncle have?
