Led scanner

Does any body know how to hook up scanner. Where do I get Ignition ground when eng is off. HELP!!!

Trying to hook up a Led scanner. there are 3 wires red black & yellow. Don't know where to hook them up so the scanner works when truck is off. I have a 2013 DCLB 3" lift,tinted windows,chrome handles, mirrors,Leds under truck, piaa 110/135 extreme white,ventvisors,hooddeflector,inside leds,Led brakelight strip.

 

If your wanting it to work when the key is out then your going to have to tie the red and yellow together and the black im assumimg is ground can be run to any number of grounds. A lot of people use the screw behind the kick panel or the one that takes ground from the battery. Again as yellow and red I would assume the yellow is constant and the red is accessory. So normally if you were wanting it to run only with key you would go to an ignition fuse under the dash, yellow constant to the battery and ground just about anywhere. So you tie the yellow and red together send them to battery and hook up ground. It should work without key in then.

 

To reiderate. The yellow is to keep the pattern or function its on when not powered on. Red power when key is in and ground is ground

Thanks for your help. I hooked up red to bat. black to ground and now the yellow and red made it stay on all the time. I looked for a fuse that was not hot when truck was off it was # 6 in fuse box I tapped it and the scanner worked. When I started truck the scanner went off. Now it works fine. Thanks for your Idea on where to look. Ray
