Which way would you tint your tail lights?

I plan on tinting my tail lights soon and im wondering what is the preferred way to do them. The two main ways that i've seen is painting them and then using the lamin-x tint. Thanks for the help. If you have any other methods of tinting them, please let me know.

 

Painting them by mixing clear and black.

x2...that makes em look really nice! I used the VHT Nite Shades and i'm happy with the results

 

I used VHT nite shades and it turned out great.

 

I used VHT and mine are good with no Streaks but their not glossy

 

I wouldn't tint mine. Since they're illegal in california, a hit in the rear by a driver who wasn't paying attention could shift the liability to you by claiming your tail lights were tinted.

 

Well ya that is a good point but im just trying to get them a little darker is all, not a whole lot. Plus I have Virginia plates so all I would have to say is that they're legal in Virginia. lol. My window tint isn't that dark but i've gotten crap about it a few times and once they see my plates they let me go. : )
