I want long travel!

How much has everyone spent on suspension front and rear and all 4 fenders for their long travel tacomas? My goal for my taco is to make it look like something that i could race in Baja. I just love the style of LT trucks.

More than likely it would be more than you would want to spend just to get it to "look" like that.

If you are serious about an lt truck and plan to use it I would sooner look for a used but well taken care of Taco that's already been lt'd to save a boat load of dough.

I wouldn't want to LT a DD....why, because with modifying a vehicle that much, you gotta be prepared for the extra maintenance and repairs that come with it...plus if you plan on using the truck that it's now built up to be, you definitely could run into a lot of potential breakages. Just my two cents...

depending at how far into it you want to get too, LT is like $2k just for the front and it goes up from there. my buddy is into his truck like $15k and it still needs work LOL. remember, like cmack said, mo mods, mo problems.

shit aint cheap man, not even close and def do not build a prerunner for the "looks of it"

to build up the truck front and rear (properly) your gonna be looking close to $8-10K. LT trucks make more noise than horny pigs so take that in mind if the truck is your DD. and the spending doesn't stop once the truck is built, it just keeps going. you'll break stuff and need to fix it and you'll want to upgrade stuff as well. if you decide to cross over to the dark side, be prepared to be broke

so far i've spent well over $5K on parts that are on the truck and parts that are sitting in my garage waiting to go on the truck. alot of them are used too...

honeslty, it's way cheaper and easier to buy a truck thats already built... just saying

Heck of a deal at under $15k.

OP, for reference on my truck the shocks alone retail for $6200. That doesn't include the custom mount points and bed cage to fit them, or even bumpstops for that matter.

This stuff is not cheap. What's your budget? Always start with your budget and a realistic idea of how you'll use your vehicle.

2,500 for front kit
1200 for front coilovers
400 for glass fenders
= $4,100 for the front...thats IF you do it yourself.

if you want the "look"
get some glas fenders and spidertrax wheel spacers and some decent coilovers for the front.
some deaver springs and new shocks in the rear.

maybe a pre runner bumper depending on how much you wanna spend.

plus your in TX..not much sand in TX
I love these threads

Not each -- altogether. Front 2.5" bypasses + Front 2.5" coilovers + rear 3.0" 4-tube bypasses.
