So what exactly does this tell us about the difference between mounting shocks in front vs in back? I assume you will need longer shocks for in back than in front right? Since droop would swing the axle further away from the top of the shock.

    Technical answer:
That is an older toyota shackle with the leafs under the frame. Your toyota has a flipped shackle, leafs out board, and will more then likely be alot smaller and pivot differently. But what that shows is that when the suspension cycles towards bump it moves back in an arch. "Ideally" (And I qoute because it is more theortical and works better on a computer but really wont play a huge difference through out 20" travel, 35" tires, bypasses, valving, and hauling ass off road in DIRT) you want the suspension travling with a 1:1 motion ratio (for every inch the suspension moves the shock moves one inch). Therefore if you have your shocks mounted in a vertical plane it isn't actually in a 1:1 ratio and espcially not if your shocks are leaned foward. Leaning the shocks foward you can get away with a smaller stroke shock because of the motion ratio (think 1.5:1 or 2:1) but would need to increase the valving due to leverage.

    What I would do:
Buy deavers, mount shocks, drive offroad. Get a BJ.

Sweet! Thanks! How much lift has everyone been getting from the DMZ kit? I'm looking for at least 3" of lift. I want to go to 37's eventually.
