MxPat, how's the glare off the windshield and white hood with the light bar mounted there? Any regrets? I'm eventually going to be mounting one on another vehicle I own and that vehicle eventually will have a white hood as well down the road. I've heard people complain about glare off the windshield with them mounted like that but haven't heard anyone talk about having a white hood in the mix too. I'm tempted to mount mine back a bit further on my roof rack... Mine will be on an SUV, not apples to apples but still has a windshield and a white hood in it's future.

Nice ride!!! Jealous of the pics, looks like a ton of fun! Is it Moab or someplace else similar? I want to get up to Sandy Hallow, Ut. this fall. The pictures I've seen of it look very similar to these.

It has glare but with the light bar adjusted properly it does not bother me. If all you had was a roof light (no bumper light) you'd probably find yourself aiming it down lower which will get the glare to be annoying.

No regrets at all on the bars, they work great. I'm glad I did not buy Rigid; the OKledlightbars.com clones are 95% the same performance at 30% of the price.

Most of the pictures are from Moab, some are from Colorado.

All of you two wheel drive, and even four wheel drive, guys who hit the dunes all the time should consider a set of traction ramps. I'm definitely going to pick up a pair after seeing them in use.

This is a friend of mine in the white wash sand dunes at Moab using smittybilt's element ramps to recover his xterra:

Chase, misght i suggest the TJM ramps over the smittys? They are about the same price, but a lot closer to the ARBs as far as strength is concerned. I've seen a couple of smitty ramnps snap in two under normal conditions. I haven't used my TJMs much, but they have held up great so far. they are called T.R.E.D.s

I will probably buy the maxtrax because I want to be able to use them as ramps as well. The smittybilts would definitely snap if used as ramps.

smittys will definitely snap as ramps. TJMs will hold up better, but i wouldn't use them in that nature if unsupported. the ARBs (maxtrax) flex a ton, but will work as a ramp. best solution would be to have the TJM/ARB as well as a set of actual bridging ladders, but that takes up a lot of space.

X2 with the TJM's. We have them here in the store and they are pretty solid. Can get you guys a TW discount on them. We have them in both sizes and the carry bags for them as well.

I kinda laughed at them when we first got them, but saw them used and they work pretty dam well. Also can be used a shovel.

ARB has no association with Maxtrax. They make their own sand ladder called the Xtrax. TRED is auctually just another Australian brand that TJM is now importing to the states.

You really cant go wrong with either of the two being discussed. I personally prefer the MaxTrax however the price point of the Treds makes them hard to pass up. The MaxTrax are bi-directional, linkable, sturdier and easier to mount with a set of their mounting pins, the Treds are a little bit thicker to mount and can only be used one direction however one end of the Treds can be used as a shovel. Both are good choices.

Funny, was just looking at the maxtrax last week but the price kinda tossed me out the door. Will have to look into these other ones to see how the price point compares. I'm not looking to use them as ramps, purely for that exact situation shown in the video above...

Thanks for the feedback on the light setup also. I've already got the light bar. Running a 50" tough light. We've got one on the TPF race truck and though we haven't actually "used" it yet, just initial thoughts doing hot laps around the street is combo'd with the HID's on the bumper it's going to be a great setup for sure! On my SUV though, the LED will be the only accessory forward lighting on the vehicle, or at least planned for right now... Interesting the comment on having to aim them a bit lower cause of that which for obvious reasons would affect the amount of glare. Will keep that in mind. I honestly haven't given hardly any thought to how I'm going to mount the setup at this point. Just getting feedback from others and then need to see physically what my options in mounting locations are from there.

SDHQ, who is this posting? Vince?

Sierra... Price point is def better on the ones you posted that link to and I think for my purpose those would suit my needs better. Curious, do you know the physical size of that storage bag that is shown in the pictures on the link? I'm looking to weigh price vs. storage space and needs basically. I figure all of them are probably pretty beneficial once the tires have dug in. I'm more concerned with how to carry them and the cost. Mounting a set of ramps would interesting to say the least to figure out.

19x12x5 and there are 2 of them.

 TJM is the North American distributor for them, but the TRED brand has been around for some time down under. Its good to see more and more of these products coming over now, theres been some awesome stuff on the market for awhile that you could only buy down there. Off Road there is totally different than it is here in the states, practically everything has a bumper on it haha

thanks for the reply! Just to clarify... A "set" is basically two of those bags so I need storage room for 2 bags that size is what you're saying?

Or the 2 ramps stuff into a single holder that size?
