The subframe upfront needs plated bad on tacomas. If you have used your truck much at all, its probably already bent

Can you still get it alined decently?

Speaking of alinement I got mine done Saturday and it hit spec on the camber and toe but I had them leave the caster at 6.7* at ride height. How do you guys feel about added camber like 1-2*?

it's fine for me. Nick welded on new LCA frame mounts and my truck tracks straight with good eye-ball camber lol

curious, where's the problem area typically? I only have experience with a particular green tacoma. Wondering if the plate work I already have done by chance has it covered...

I also boxed in the huge holes I created with my cuts and plated each of the lower control arm pivot boxes as well. Tossed some tubing structure in there as well that my skidplates tied into.

Landon, no accordion boot on the steering rack? Do most people ditch them when going clevis with rod ends? I'm still running them on the TPF truck...

when i first go my truck with the kit, i let the boots off. kind of regret doing that since sand got into all the gears and eventually into the rack itself. what i did now was cut a bigger hole on the side of the boot where the tie rod goes through, and pushed it over the clevis so its inbetweeen the rack and clevis.

I'm still running the OE boot with no cuts or anything crazy going on on the TPF race truck. It's kind of a bummer it hides the expensive custom clevis's and heims but I figured it was worth it to keep the crap out of the rack... I was just a bit surprised to see no boots on Landon's and was curious if a lot of people aren't running them? I plan to keep them on the TPF truck for sure... There's no reason to not run them honestly.

Ignore the ratchet strap holding the engine in, lol, you can see the boot still all good in one piece post race here though. (well and you can see the explorer that I recycled at the metal scrap yard for $240 and you can see my toyota hiding behind the gate too... LOL)

The weren't on there when i bought the truck. Haven't bothered putting any on because the rack is toast. I will be running them with the new rack.

That's also where I got my replacement rack. Fit, finish, and quality is top notch.

How is that wrap holding up to sand spray and other desert abuse? Do you have any details on the material? Thickness, type, manufacturer? Thanks!

The wrap probably has about 400 miles on it I'm guessing at this point. 100% offroad obviously... I don't know the details on it though. It was done by Warrior Wraps here in Vegas.

As for wear and tear... The front facing edge of the rear fenders are a bit peppered from rocks. I typically just don't run the fenders when out testing to help save them. They have a couple scratches from Jprich diving for a fence line to move out of Baldwin's TT coming up from behind too. It seems to be holding up somewhat decent though. There's a couple edges where it's starting to peel and I may just razor blade those off to help keep it from getting worse. Also it's spider cracking a bit here and there on the fiberglass from flex which I wasn't exactly expecting.

Is it show quality still? No, probably not, but from 5'-10' away it still looks amazing and the truck gets attention everywhere it goes which was the point. It's still doing it's job great and the truck grabs a lot of exposure cause of it.

I don't know if I'd do it on a personal truck but for something like this where you want attention and are hoping to gain support from sponsors it seems like a reasonable investment.

I actually have my personal truck plasti dipped and I think for my personal offroad toy, that's honestly a better way to go where I'm not out showing it, displaying it, racing it, etc... If you just want a solid durable finish that will hold up to abuse and is cheap I think that's a more realistic way to go. Plus you can change colors every couple years for cheap... LOL
