    its welded now...connects to the gusset...then i ran out of gas....

    i didnt weld the corner gussets..jordan (santabarbarataco) welded that part...but i did the other stuff.

    Looks damn good! My only suggestion would be to wrap a tube (just a smaller tube, like 1.5" or 1.25" .120) under the bottom of the end of the receiver instead of just the side gussets. Lotta stress pulling down on that hitch.

    Turned out nice Anthony. I'd take Jason's suggestion though, the disadvantage of tube to box tube is you don't have nearly the contact area for welding as box to box.

    if you remember the picture i sent you, i have 4 of those 90* gussets, as well as two tube braces and a plate style brace on top. that was all in order to avoid having a tub under the receiver, to help with clearance, but with clearance not being as big of an issue, that would be a nice easy way for you to go.

    ^ Exactly.
    Doesn't look like clearance really is an issue anyway because of the vertical spares. Those look like the lowest point anyway.

    My truck has 130,000 miles and while it has put up with the hard use very well, any vehicle with that sort of mileage is going to require some extra TLC, let alone a truck that has thousands of miles in the dirt.

    I would love to have a DD so I could work on the truck and not have to worry about buttoning everything up to get to work on Monday.

    Tyler at TNT let me borrow his 9" jig so I trussed an ugly econoline housing I picked up for my 87 pickup project.
    Have a spooled stock carrier with 5.29 gears and stock 31 spline axles with nice end caps and bearings for it.
    I think each component is on about the same level weak/strength wise.
    I'll get some super wazoo rear end someday.
    Might get some currie axles for it.

    They are not the same, but not sure by how much.
    The LBJ's on the taco and tundra are different so I'm sure the double sheer tab is different. Other than that, don't know if there's any difference tho.
