That baja thread in the regular suspension forum never fails to entertain.

Non-stop line of guys who paid $40,000 for a set of Bilstein shocks and a sticker package who insist that their trucks perform way beyond what we all know they are capable of.

:yay:Yeah, the hours of research and entertainment here are about to pay off! Tim is starting the rear this week! Time to legitimalnly make the jump from expo to LT. Now to put a real hurting on the bank account! Cant wait to not get left behind trying to keep up with the trucks at the races (obviously not the race trucks:D). Last time I tried to keep up with a few of you it didn't end well.

    First gen and older guys,

what did you do with that brake proportioning valve thats mounted in the rear ? There are 2 lines that go into it, and one that comes out and goes to the rear brakes. Trying to figure out whats what.

Are you gonna have anything in the bed that'll drastically effect weight?
Are the lines cables of lines?
If they're cables you could move the adjustability to the frame so you don't have to worry about the flex.

    (i can't explain how i'm seeing it, but i think it'd work)

two lines are from master cylinder. The single is the output to the brakes. You usually have a arched piece of metal that curves from it to the axle. Depending on how low or high the axle is it pushes the metal rod to open and close the valve more or less to allow more or less activation from the rear brakes.

You can get aftermarket ones and just manually set the proportioning. I believe Jason did this.

I am not sure if the two going into the valve are two inputs or one input and one return.

There is a good proportioning valve from summit I've used in the past. I'll try to find the link tomorrow

    Lots of expensive shit
I have a plate I cut that you can attach to the 2 mounting points and it holds the arm up and you just cut off the excess....

Or take it out, cap one end, and connect the other end to the brake line.

Or take it out, trace the lines, pull one out and put a union in place of the "T" fitting.

I've done all 3 with success. LOL
