My boy Sick Nick can do anything you want to a first gen.
Ive seen him do some nice stuff over the years to a lot of 1st gens. But its all custom made to your liking

Ok, $89 I think is the shock tower gussets then. But they will match price gusset to gusset.

Thats what I'm thinking. It doesn't make sense to take my diffs in and have them re-geared then take them back in 6 months and have lockers put in.
I'd probably save a lot on labor (at least thats what I have to tell myself)

 

Yes....but how much $$$$ do you want to spend.
Quality 4x4 work is not cheap. Especially when doing 4wd modifications that involve axles and stuff

 

just get the lockers while the diff is apart and save your money on labor. Flat rate for the shop near my house is 425 labor whether its just gears, lockers, or both.

The shop I have to take it to is 4 hrs away and is around $100 an hour I believe.
Theres no flat rate anything for gears here since its not really common to do.
I'm guessing $1000 for front and rear, gears and lockers.

 

1000 for front and rears?! if so, thats a frickin steal!!! i got quoted just under 900 for a master rebuild kit, gears, and labor just for the rear axle, it was another ~5-600 for the locker.

 

That seems extremely cheap. Just for reference here are some rough estimates on gears and lockers through us, and we are usually on par if not cheaper than some.

Gears are anywhere from $280-490 for the set PER diff
Master install kits are usually right around $300 per diff (dont waste your time with a minor kit unless the truck is brand new)
Lockers are going to run around $300 for a auto locker to upwards of $1200 for an ARB

We flat rate our installs at $450 per diff if were doing a locker, $400 if its just gears.

What's up with the poor customer service. Does this guy ever call anyone back!!! He was referred to me by a friend. But should I be affraid to use him because he blows at calling me back. Just wondering if I drop my truck off for some work how will I get updates.. HELP!!!

 

if i were you, id just swing by the shop and see whats goin on if he keeps no calling back.

 

I've heard some really solid stuff amount AMS and the cage Brian did on RonDogs truck, and the work on Chris's truck was bad ass.


But lately I've been hearing horror stories about lagging on work and call-backs like you're saying.

I agree with Brian, stop by the shop and see what's up. That's what I would do before putting it off as a whole.
